Law Firm Duo Tuck In as The Wolseley and The Delaunay Change Hands

Mishcon de Reya and RPC are advising as several of London’s most famous restaurant brands change hands.

Restaurant ownership group Corbin & King has been taken over by its former majority shareholder, Thai hospitality group Minor.

Corbin & King, which ran several of London’s top eateries, including The Wolseley and The Delaunay, was launched by businessmen Chris Corbin and Jeremy King in the 1980s.

King had previously retained operational control of the business while Minor owned a 74% stake in the company. Following disputes over pandemic related debts, Minor agreed that the company would enter administration in early April.

Following an auction process earlier this month, Minor took control of the business in its entirety.

Corbin & King’s administrators were advised on the acquisition by RPC, which fielded a team led by the firm’s head of business restructuring and insolvency Finella Fogarty, supported by partner Tim Moynihan, according to a statement by the firm.

Mishcon acted for Minor, with private client partners Nick Davis and Janet Tobin leading the firm’s team, which also included insolvency partners Raza Khan and David Leibowitz, a spokesperson for the firm said.
