The 4-year-old daughter and mother-in-law of a man running for House District 68 were killed in a hit and run crash in north Texas.
Craig Carter posted on Facebook that his daughter Lux and mother-in-law Rose Morgan were killed in a “horrible car crash” on Sunday.
His 3-year-old son Rex is at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
“He is fighting and we humbly ask for your prayers,” Carter said. “My wife and I are devastated but comforted by the knowledge that they are now with our Lord Jesus.”
According to NBC 5, police in Northlake — between Denton and Fort Worth — said Kendrick Demon Collins ran into Morgan’s vehicle, pushing it into a concrete barrier and roll over several times.
Collins was arrested and charged with two counts of accident involving death and one count of accident involving serious bodily injury. His bond was set at $600,000.
Carter’s wife said because of the economic downturn caused by COVID, they do not have health insurance for Rex. So all of the costs for his medical care will be out of pocket.
The couple set up a GoFundMe page. Click here to donate.
“We are asking you to please donate what you can and to please pray for us and especially Rex,” said Leigha Morgan and Carter.
House District 68 includes Fisher, Kent, King, Haskell, Stonewall and Throckmorton counties.
