A citizens team submitted a legal action in opposition to the city of Malibu, alleging the City Council’s approval of a shorter-term rental ordinance in November did not include a suitable assessment of its probable influence on the natural environment.
Citizens for Dependable Brief-Phrase Rental Regulation brought the petition Wednesday in Los Angeles Excellent Court docket, in search of a court docket purchase directing the city to vacate the ordinance and perform a “legally ample environmental review.”
Malibu Town Attorney Trevor Rusin did not immediately return a call for comment.
The City Council held a community hearing Nov. 5 to think about the ordinance and on Nov. 23 accredited the measure.
