Archer, a civil legal rights attorney, scholar and teacher “brings with her a wealth of practical experience on racial justice and constitutional matters,” the ACLU mentioned in a statement.

Archer began her law profession as an ACLU Fellow, she explained Monday.

She also serves on the board of directors of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
