Nevada’s law enforcement agencies geared up to target distracted driving

In a 10-day sprint, Nevada’s law enforcement agencies will be targeting and citing distracted driving. 

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Department of Public Safety, the “Joining Forces” campaign will be in effect until Jan. 25, 2021.

State law prohibits any use of a handheld electronic device, including cell phones, music players and in-vehicle entertainment systems, while driving. 

Extra patrols will be deployed across the state, paid for through the Office of Traffic Safety which works to reduce injuries and crashes along Nevada’s roadways.
