Law university deans in Minnesota be part of colleagues throughout U.S. in decrying Jan. 6 Capitol assaults
The leaders of Minnesota’s a few legislation educational institutions are amongst far more than 150 law faculty deans throughout the place condemning the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol and efforts to overturn the effects of the November presidential election.
U of M Legislation University Dean Garry Jenkins, University of St. Thomas Regulation College Dean Robert Vischer and Mitchell Hamline President and Dean Anthony Niedwiecki signed onto a joint assertion Tuesday decrying the Jan. 6 assault.

“The violent attack on the Capitol was an assault on our democracy and the rule of regulation,” the statement states. “The effort to disrupt the certification of a no cost and fair election was a betrayal of the main values that undergird our Constitution.”
It goes on to say: “As regulation deans, our mission is to educate the future technology of leaders to uphold the core values of our occupation and maintain the rule of law.”
The deans also pointed out “with dismay and sorrow that some legal professionals challenged the consequence of the election with claims that they did not guidance with information or proof. This betrayed the values of our occupation.”
The signees depict additional than 75 % of the leaders of the American Bar Association-accredited law universities in the state.
