Carlinville man’s arrest relevant to Virden homicide

VIRDEN — A Carlinville guy desired on a demand of obstructing justice in a Monday homicide in Virden has been arrested in Kentucky, but is demanding extradition.

A warrant was issued for Dalton M. Obermark, 20, of Carlinville in the course of the investigation into the death of John Rennie, 58, of North Dye Avenue in Virden. Macoupin County authorities accuses Obermark of leaving the condition to obstruct his prosecution even though getting product information about Rennie’s demise.

Rennie was uncovered dead in his household about 11:55 p.m. Monday after Virden Police had been questioned to check out on his welfare.
