This is the 3rd WERQ! LGBTQ Work Truthful. The initially focused largely on youth encountering homelessness, and in 2016 there was a specific emphasis on youth, trans and seniors. This year’s honest is open to all LGBTQ and allies, and will coincide with the start of a #HireTrans neighborhood initiative.

Booths at the job honest are $95 for corporations, $75 for nonprofits. People wishing to attend can RSVP to Tracy Baim, [email protected].

The occasion includes two workshops. The 1st will be at 10 a.m. to focus on transgender hiring and workplace difficulties. The 2nd will be at noon, on senior hiring concerns. Both workshops will be on the 2nd ground of Middle on Halsted, while the Career Reasonable is in the third-floor gym. Heart on Halsted computer lab will be open for the duration of the career good for those needing to get the job done on and print out their resumes.

The Career Fair coincides with the launch of the Windy Town Periods #HireTrans citywide marketing campaign to thrust all employers to raise their hiring and office inclusion endeavours for the transgender neighborhood. #HireTrans is a visibility marketing campaign that will attribute more than 60 trans and gender nonconforming people who were being photographed by award-winning filmmaker Andre Perez.
